It all began with a single pin! Before blossoming into a thriving business, Zaltas Fine Jewelers was a passion project for owner and founder, Kathy Zaltas. A former Foreign Language Teacher in Westchester County, NY, Kathy's knack for stylish jewelry caught the eye of her colleagues, who often asked her to pick up pieces for them during her travels.

The pivotal moment arrived with a heart-shaped pin, gifted to Kathy by her husband of 45 years, Fred Zaltas. As colleagues and friends began to admire the heart-shaped pin, Kathy sought out its creator, Liz-Tech, and began purchasing the heart pin for them. Impressed by her enthusiasm, Liz-Tech invited Kathy to represent their line.

As Kathy delved deeper into the world of jewelry, she connected with emerging designers, staying ahead of industry trends. While Kathy was professionally trained in academia, she quickly became well-versed in the intricacies and details of jewelry craftsmanship and gemology, receiving training from leading jewelers and gemologists.

As Kathy's business flourished amidst technological advancements and the rise of social media platforms, she enlisted the expertise of her daughter, Rebecca Zaltas, whose meticulous attention to detail and vast knowledge of technology complemented the family’s business. Rebecca spearheaded the launch and management of our e-commerce platform, facilitating our brand's seamless transition into the digital realm. Together, they curate timeless and elegant pieces, infusing each creation with Kathy's profound knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, and metals, while adding a personal touch.
